Diplômé de l'ULB en 1966, interniste, chef de clinique adjoint au CHU Brugmann.

Crée la Clinique Interdisciplinaire du Traitement de l'Obésité (CITO) en 1982.

Membre-fondateur et administrateur de la Belgian Association for the Study of Obesity (BASO).
Membre de l'EASO (European Association for the Study of Obesity), de la NAASO (North American Association for the Study of Obesity) et de l'IASO (International Association for the Study of Obesity).

Le traitement de l'obésité est souvent décevant.

Partant de ce constat, il est proposé d'abandonner la prescription de " régimes " rigides, quels qu'ils soient, et qui réduisent le patient à une machine thermodynamique.

Le traitement prendra en compte les erreurs repérables, non limitées au bilan calorique, fera appel à des modifications de style de vie et à l'interdisciplinarité. En fonction d'un bilan global, il pourra être éventuellement fait appel à la pharmacopée et la chirurgie.
